Last posting I said I'd share some more websites with you and I'm a bit later than promised, but I have some fun sites for you to visit.  Here we go---

Keven Henkes is one of my favorite authors and he has a series of mouse books with character we named kittens after.  If you know Wendell, Lilly, or Chester go and adventure on this site to meet more of Kevin's characters.  If you don't know Kevin's work you're in for a treat. I suggest The Goldfish, We Are the Dinosaurs, and I Know a Chicken.  You can find he music on Spotify.  Visit the website and play on Spotify to find your By the Bay or Baby Beluga?  Some of you might not know that Raffi has books that go along with some of his songs.  I can't go farther without mentioning my husbands favorite song to play on the piano for kids, There's a Spider on the Floor.  

I am having computer issues and things are going wonky.  So I publish this now and add more later on a new computer.  UGH.

Some Website Fun

So this week I thought I'd share some fun and helpful websites you might like to visit.    If you've been to them before maybe visit again to see what is new.  Here we go. 

http://www.kizclub.com   Now I have to say, I don't believe in worksheets for preschoolers so I don't recommend those to you.  My favorite section of this site is the stories and props tab. With the story props you can print them on card-stock and laminate them and place magnets on the back for your classroom or you can also put Velcro on the back and make a story board on poster board with them.  My favorite thing to do is to print them on iron transfer papers and iron them on felt for flannel board story retelling play.  I always make more than one set. This allows for loss of a piece or pieces and for matching....etc.   I also like the rhymes and songs section with minibooks to print and share with families and song props for use, as above, with the story props.

https://memfox.com    The world of Fox is meant for children of all ages.  From birth until 110.  There is information about Mem, she reads a newer book -(I love to here her read), sections for teachers, parents, writers and for children.  Do stop for a bit and play around.  I highly suggest stopping at the book tab and clicking on Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge.  Listen to it, hear Mem read it, read the information about the book.  It is such a heart warmer.  If you don't Where's the Green Sheep? ...it is a preschool must read and own.  When I first read it on my own, I was not sure it was another wonderful Mem Fox book.  Two weeks later my wonderful librarian read it to my preschool class.  They sat on that rug and had eyes as big as saucers.  When Arlene read it to my class, I realized Mem Fox had another child centered treasure. 

http://www.audreywood.com  Stop by Audrey Wood's website to learn about her books and her other creative family members.  Get the background story of the newer book The Full Moon at the Napping House.  One of my favorite family memories is when Elizabeth was 4 and read me The Napping House.  I can still hear that sweet little voice reading me the book I'd read to her so many times before.  Her eyes full of excitement. Elizabeth, if you read this know that I am ordering you and I both a copy of The Full Moon at the Napping House.

http://www.eric-carle.com   While writing the above note to you, I knew the next site had to be Eric Carle as now my granddaughter, Maya reads to me.  So a few weeks ago when I asked if she'd like me to read to her, she yelled  "No!" My heart sank.  "I read to you!" she continued.  My heart danced.  And she sat on the sofa next to me and began, "'Brown bear, brown bear...  Thank you Eric Carle for a classic that has warmed the hearts of my children, their children, and many classes of preschool children in my room.

http://robertmunsch.com  Robert Munsch supplies laughter and fun for all ages.  Thomas' Snowsuit was the first Munsch book I came across.  I laughed out loud and had a blast.  Listen to Rober Munsch read it and have a good laugh when you visit this site.  We love it here in Arizona where children, in the Valley of the Sun, don't have to wear snowsuits. 😃😃 His Love You Forever book will bring tears to your eyes. His website is a great place to play for a teacher or a parent.
